I’m Mike Carson, maker of many things and a clay nut. Together with my wife Sally we create unique clay pieces of pottery.

My work centers around creating something functional, things that you don’t just treasure from a distance. The glazes and clays I use are developed and selected for their clean beauty and their durability. The ring of a well thrown mug shouldn’t fade with a trip through a dishwasher, or microwave. The biggest reward is hearing from customers that still remark how well my ware holds up after years of use.

When I’m not creating coatings, clays and pottery, I’m usually working on 3D printed objects. It’s a great new technology that opens new doorways to creating work in clay, especially for the home potter.
